About the event
The ALCC Social Committee is excited to announce our new date for the Glow Hike! Meet at the Tree farm at 9pm for a guided tour! Glow sticks provided.
Our Ames Lake neighbor, Paul, is earing up to lead a discussion about the night sky and the captivating would of constellations.
Paul will share the stories and myths woven into these celestial patterns, offering insights into how they've guided us for generations. Learn how constellations can serve as pointers to some of the most intriguing objects in the sky, opening up a whole new realm of stargazing.
With clear skies, we'll have a chance to observe the farthest know object visible to the naked eye, along with glimpses of Saturn, the Milky Way, and more.
Feel free to bring along binoculars if you have them, and a red light (which tends to disrupt our night vision less than white light flashlights) can be quite useful, though not necessary.Â
